Connect Your Shopify Store

Add an AI-powered shopping assistant to your Shopify store in minutes.

Connect Your Store in ShopBotly

ShopBotly uses OAuth to connect to your Shopify store - no API keys needed!

  1. Log in to your ShopBotly dashboard
  2. Go to Commerce > Add Store
  3. Select Shopify
  4. Enter your Shopify domain (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
  5. Click "Connect Store"
  6. You'll be redirected to Shopify - click "Install unlisted app" to authorize

Easy! No need to create private apps or generate API tokens. Just click to authorize.

Create Your Chatbot

  1. Go to Chatbot in your dashboard
  2. Click "Create New Chatbot"
  3. Enter a name for your chatbot
  4. Under "Commerce Store", select your connected Shopify store
  5. Configure your chatbot settings (welcome message, appearance, etc.)
  6. Save your chatbot

Note: The chatbot will use your product catalog to answer customer questions and make recommendations.

Add Chatbot to Your Store

  1. Go to Commerce in your dashboard
  2. Find your connected store and click on it
  3. Click "Get Embed Code"
  4. Copy the embed code
  5. Add the code to your Shopify store:
    • Go to Online Store > Themes in Shopify
    • Click "..." > Edit code
    • Find theme.liquid or footer.liquid
    • Paste the embed code before </body>
    • Save

Alternative: You can also use Shopify's "Add script" feature in Settings > Customer events.

Your Data & Privacy

ShopBotly only accesses the store data needed to power your AI assistant - your product catalog and order details (used for order-status questions). We never modify your store, and your access is secured through Shopify OAuth.

  • We are GDPR-compliant and honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks.
  • If a shopper requests their data or its deletion, we fulfill it through Shopify's customer data-request and redaction processes.
  • When you uninstall the app, your store's data is automatically removed from our systems.
